Without leadership to protect our most precious resources - one another, the natural world and all its plants and wildlife - we won't be around to enjoy it.

What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?

I got a renewed confidence in my ability to make a difference in the world.

Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a 'change maker' in your field?

Ensuring that human rights are respected and that people, no matter where they live, are able to experience a good quality of life is my main motivation for working in the area of sustainability.

The moment that made me decide to become a change maker, was when I was 20 years old, an in Brazil for Carnival. During the festivities, I saw children as young as four collecting cans for cash in the middle of the night. This made me reasssess my decision to study Commerce at university and what I wanted to contribute to, in this world.

How did the program play a role in directing your current path or project?

The program helped me to build connections with amazing people doing great things in the world. With their support and encouragement, I was able to be connected with an inspirational Mentor, get a new job and build in more self-care strategies to ensure I am able to work more sustainable for the future.

Why is leadership for sustainability important?

It is important because we only have one planet. Without leadership to protect our most precious resources - one another, the natural world and all its plants and wildlife - we won't be around to enjoy it.

What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?

To continue to build my skills, knowledge and connections to work with others to create the world I want to live in.

What are three words you would use to describe the Program?

Encouraging, Affirming, Connecting.
