The story so far…

Right now there is an amazing amount of publicity around climate and environmental issues. Whilst this publicity is vital, it is more important than even to turn it into action. Action only happens when individuals have courage to become change makers.

We see our role as pivotal in gathering together people who see the possibilities of a better world and providing them with the tools and skills required to make that world happen.

So far we have helped people from a diverse range of backgrounds to become future sustainability leaders. Our alumni includes constructions mangers, lawyers, heath professionals, entrepreneurs , advertising officials, government officials, management consultants, economists as well as climate change scientists.

So far our graduates have been responsible for having a dramatic impact on organisations and business around Australia. It is our ambition to take our successful model for creating sustainability change makers and leaders to the rest of the world in order to make global action happen.

Imagine if…

What could we achieve for our world if we had hundreds of thousands of sustainability change makers throughout society, driving sustainability in their respective workplaces, sectors, governments and communities?

What if these people were both highly passionate and effective in engaging and inspiring peers and leaders alike to change not only their own lives, but the ways in which they make key decisions and do business?

There are hundreds of thousands of young people across the globe who can imagine a different, more sustainable future, but don’t know how to go about creating it. The Online Future Sustainability Leaders Program is designed to bridge this gap by empowering young people to make their communities more sustainable.

Most people around the world do not have access to in-person sustainability leadership training, but they do have access to a computer, whether it be at home, at school or at a local internet café.

How this will happen?

The Online Future Sustainability Leaders Program is designed to build the sustainability leadership capacity of young people around the globe using free, high quality internet-based training. Each international cohort of participants will learn essential practical skills needed to be change makers in their countries.

Examples of these many skills include: effective communication, working with the media, creative thinking, leadership, understanding the workings of the world we live in at present, and envisaging the very different sustainable world of the future. It will be an innovative curriculum through which the global participants will reassess what they believe they can achieve.

The program will be taught by experts in the development of key skills sets and existing sustainability change makers from all over the globe. Over 100 of the world’s greatest sustainability leaders and change makers, spread across 30 cities and five continents, have already shared their stories, experiences and wisdom in interviews that form part of the material for this program.

This comprehensive online program will use technology including video streaming, podcasts, webinars and interactive activities to teach each of the modules. Alternative formats will be available for those with limited internet access and connection speeds. Participants will put the skills learnt into practice by initiating sustainability projects in their home communities.

The outcomes

• To empower thousands of young people across the globe to lead their communities to be more sustainable.

• Galvanise the disparate sustainability projects happening in each country/region
• Provide opportunities for local sustainability ideas to find a global stage and start to create the action required to make a better world for all of us
