Skill Workshops

“The Centre for Sustainability Leadership Fellowship Program curriculum is the fruit of an extraordinary vision – an understanding that media, politics, sociology, psychology and even language itself are all key areas of investigation for those who wish to lead humanity into an era of Sustainability. The Centre for Sustainability Leadership Fellowship Program has pushed me to research and articulate the global issues I wish to tackle in my working and creative life. Through this process I have experienced a major shift in my outlook – from a feeling of isolation and overwhelm to a sense of hope, clarity and connection.”

-Will Tait
Director, Our Planet Enterprises – Sustainability Theatre Company
The Centre for Sustainability Leadership Fellowship Program Graduate 2006

The Fellowship Program workshop encompass 42 hours of formal training with the express goal of building the capacities of fellows to enable them to help facilitate more environmentally sustainable behaviour. The workshops will improve and develop skills in using the media, project evaluation, teamwork, leadership, negotiation and influence, as well as relationship building, behaviour change, creative thinking and problem solving, presentation skills and public speaking, project planning and prioritisation and emotional intelligence.

In addition, fellows will graduate with new and unique insights into environmental and political structures, mentorship, the history and dynamics of social change, personal aspects of leadership, funding and environmental careers. The workshops are conducted on Wednesday evening in the Sydney CBD and Tuesday evenings in the Melbourne CBD from 6pm to 9pm, beginning in April and running through until November. Fellows must attend every workshop and may need to do up to one hour of preparation for each.
