Before applying for an internship position with CSL please ensure that you have the following information to upload (one file per item) and include with your application:
o Resume / CV
o Certified copy of Academic Transcript (see note below)
o Writing Sample (see note below)
o Copies of written references and/or phone and email details of referees
o Documentation for academic credit (if required)
You will also need to provide personal details, emergency contact details and information about why you are applying and your areas of interest.

Certified Copy of Academic Transcript
A certified copy of the academic transcript is required before your application can be formally approved. An application can be made with a non-certified copy of your academic transcript, however if your application is successful you must provide the certified copy as soon as possible and before you leave home to start the internship. If you are providing your certified copy after making the initial application you can email a scanned copy to volunteer@csl.org.au or post the copy to:

Writing Sample
The writing sample to be provided is a short piece of writing (no more than 3 pages), in English written by the applicant. The writing sample should demonstrate the applicant’s ability to produce well organised, articulate reports and the applicant’s English skills. The writing sample can be an extract from a previously written paper or report or a paper on a topic of interest to the applicant.
Academic Credit
Please advise CSL if you wish to gain academic credit for the internship in Australia. All applicants seeking credit must supply details of all of the necessary documentation with their application.

Where possible, please provide referees who are able to speak or write in English.

Terms and Conditions
1. The International Intern Program operates on a non-remunerative basis. Costs for travel, visa, passport, travel insurance, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern.
2. The Centre for Sustainability Leadership accepts no responsibility for the intern’s medical insurance or for costs arising from illness, injury or fatality during the period of the internship. Interns are required to provide proof of medical insurance coverage and maintain insurance for the duration of the internship.
3. Interns are responsible for obtaining their passport and visa, travel insurance and accommodation in Australia.
4. Interns will conduct themselves professionally at all times when dealing with third parties on behalf of CSL.
5. Interns will respect the confidentiality of information they collect or are exposed to at the Centre for Sustainability Leadership. No reports or papers may be published based on information obtained from the Centre for Sustainability Leadership without the explicit written consent of the Executive Director.
6. Interns will be reimbursed for any out of pocket expenses associated with the projects they are working on. This excludes living expenses and travel between home and the office.
7. The intern will be subject to a two week probationary period where the intern’s work performance will be closely monitored. Underperforming interns may have their internship terminated.
8. Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in the intern being terminated from the International Intern Program.
